The upper is tough enough to provide all the protection you need from trail debris, but soft enough for hours of comfort in the saddle. The outsole is DuPont Zytel--stiff enough for uncompromised pedal efficiency, but soft enough for comfort during long rides. The Manta's footbed is flexible but supportive EVA high-density foam. This is treated with an Aegis antimicrobial treatment to help control odors. Giro finished off the Manta with dual density lugs that provide the traction that you'll need out of the saddle.
