The 20th ranked Mississippi Rebels defeated the 7th ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders 47-34 to claim the 2009 AT & T Cotton Bowl victory. This was the final game played at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, with the game moving to the new stadium in Arlington, Texas in 2010. The game also drew a Cotton Bowl record crowd of 88,175. Ole Miss was led by sophomore quarterback Jevan Snead's 293 passing yards and three touchdowns in the highest scoring Cotton Bowl in history. Coach Houston Nutt's Rebels (9-4) closed out their season with six straight victories, the most since Eli Manning's senior season in 2003.
